2018 Norris Dam Challenge 12K

January 13, 2018

Postponed until February 24, 2018

11:00 AM EST

After talking with park personnel a couple of times, we decided that with rain and then snow continuing into the night and then temps dropping into the low 20’s, the roads would be too treacherous. They could start salting at 7 AM, but were afraid that it would be too little too late with the temps as low as they are going to be – and no sun. They can’t salt tonight because continuous rain would wash salt off the roads.

This race is part of the Tennessee State Parks Running Tour which is in it’s 38th year running. This is a 12k race in and around Norris Dam State Park, Norris, TN. The 12k race starts and finishes at the Park Headquarters of Norris Dam State Park, Norris, TN. This is a challenging course, a hill runner’s delight! It is a great lead-in to the many upcoming winter road races in the region. Hope to see you January 13th, 2018.
Bring a Crock Pot of Chili for our famous and friendly chili cooking competition after the race to warm your bones. The more chili the merrier!
